Well. it’s Winter. It’s 5.30 pm, already dark outside, the heater is on, the blinds are drawn, and I am sitting here in my trackies, waiting for 6pm so I can pour that well-earned glass of wine before settling down to write this report !
Despite the chilly weather, I do enjoy the change of seasons – provided I can keep warm. Winter brings hearty soups, slow-cooker meals, cosy clothes and boots, more time for reading and of course, the opportunity to catch up on a few Netflix serials .
Most of all, I enjoy our wonderful Probus activities. A big thank you to Joan & Jim for inviting us over for a picnic lunch on Thursday 11 June . There are still a few places available, so if you would like to join us, please give me a call so I can make sure we have enough sandwiches !
Thanks also to Denise for getting our new Knitting for Charity group underway on Monday 22 June. Some of us are already knitting squares, scarves and beanies, while others are busy searching Op Shops for wool and needles. It is a great way to combine friendship, creativity and helping others.
I look forward to seeing you all at our June meeting where we will have the pleasure of welcoming Vikki Petraitis back as our guest speaker.
