Each year the Club organises an opportunity for members to have a mini holiday. Traditionally, this has occurred in autumn at a destination in Victoria for 4 -5 days. The location chosen usually has tourist accommodation that has cabins, camping options and group meeting areas. Daily itineraries may include visiting local sites, walks, group meals, trivia quiz and free time.

PHILLIP ISLAND TRIP APRIL 2022
I feel sure from all the comments that I received that everybody enjoyed the 3 days stay at Amaroo Park, Cowes, Phillip Island. We had a group of 26 eager participants from our club come together from 5-8 April 2022.
Our very helpful hosts, the Park accommodation, and the nice weather, was just what the Club Members needed for this first extended outing in a long time.
Our food and drink get togethers in the “Homestead” lounge dining area were very enjoyable with plenty of catch-up chatting and laughs from the large group attending.
Our visit to Le Porchetta Restaurant on the first night went very well, but many of us ate too much Pizza.
During the day, groups of members travelled to many parts of the Island to enjoy walks, seeing the Penguins, the Nobbies, Cape Woolamai, Swan Lake, Rhyll, Churchill Is, plus plenty of retail therapy in Thompson St, Cowes.
Let’s hope that we can all get together again on a similar trip in the not-too-distant future.
Convenor’s Report: Geoff Bakes 10 April 2022
PS from Club Newsletter Editor: Thanks, Geoff, for organising a very enjoyable sojourn. Also, a big thank you to Steve McColl who produced a challenging 40-question quiz, which provided lots of laughs and debate about the answer to one of the questions; the animated discussion continued the next morning in the communal kitchen where we gathered to decide on the day’s activities.
