UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 2022
PETANQUE UP AND RUNNING!

One could not have asked for a better morning than what was presented on the 7th September for the resumption of Petanque. We were greeted with sunshine and a dry surface to play on. Everyone looked refreshed after their winter hibernation and were in great spirits contributing plenty of banter and laughs.
It was very pleasing to see our new members, Morris and Lesley, together with Gary and Beryl, joining the group and really getting into the spirit of the game: friendship and fellowship. I look forward to seeing them as regular players.
I was also pleased to see a bowls stalwart, our own Neil McGrath return to Petanque, he was a very valuable member of my team and played some very good shots.
Hopefully spring will continue to present us with fine, dry mornings for our weekly get together. See you on the Piste.

FEBRUARY 2022

Another enjoyable game was had on a mostly sunny day with eight men present.
Some decided to try their hand playing the “Finsk” and also the “Horseshoe Ringer” games. These two games are also very challenging, so more practice is needed.
It would be great to see more members come along and enjoy the morning sports.  Petanque Reporter: Geoff Bakes  9 February 2022

PS from another participant:
Manfred kept making up new rules that he thought would benefit him… but they didn’t work for him!
