Our day trip for Thursday 29 October is the Hoddle Grid – The Great Land Grab exhibition at the Royal Historical Society of Victoria which is located at 239 A’Beckett Street Melbourne. The exhibition explores Melbourne’s very first land sale in 1837.
We will travel by train to Flagstaff station then a short walk to our destination arriving at around 10.30.
Train timetable – Mordialloc 9.38, Parkdale9.40, Mentone 9.42, Cheltenham 9.45, Southland 9.47, Highett 9.49, Moorabbin 9.51, arriving at Flagstaff at 10.25am.
One of the staff has offered to give us a small talk on the history of the building. It is an easy exhibition to move through at your own pace and entry is free.
After our tour and weather permitting we will head across to Flagstaff gardens for a relaxing walk before lunch.
Lunch will be at 12.15 at Krimper Café which is a rustic warehouse in Guildford Lane just off Queen street near Latrobe St.
