President’s Message – May 2025

It was very pleasing to see so many at our last meeting. Combined with our inductees and visitors it was one of our best attended meetings and showed the substantial growth of the club. Our speakers were from Highett Podiatrist, who reminded us all of the necessity of caring for our feet and the little things we can all do to help our lives. Penny McColl won the prize and I’m pleased to inform everyone, she has had a truly lovely response from their staff.
The introduction of a casual lunch after our meeting saw over 20 attend and I urge anyone interested to let Jannette know.
On the 23rd of April,Mike, Jannette and myself attended a meeting of the Bayside Probus clubs. This really highlighted how strong and inclusive we are at Beaumaris Bay.
The Cerberus club advised they are having problems with activities such as trips and that maybe clubs could advertise, to help fill vacancies. This will be for further discussion,at the next get together of the district clubs. Following a presentation by the guest president from the Ashburton club it was suggested it’s time to streamline and modernise meetings to a far less formal format.
I will put this forward for further discussion at our May general meeting to guage how our members think we should proceed.
Looking forward to introducing our new inductees of which there will be four this month.
President
Gary
