ImmigationMUSEUM

Immigration Museum 10 July

The Immigration Museum opened in 1998 within Old Customs House. Located on the bank of Birrarung (Yarra River), this former administrative centre of immigration and trade is a site of great historical significance and complexity.

On Thursday 10th July I have organised a trip to the immigration museum from 10.30 to 12 noon – travelling by train to Flinders Street station then either a walk / a tram ride to the venue.
It is free for all concession holders and $10 for Seniors – as we are going in via the public entrance we can get our own tickets.
Travel arrangements are as follows meet in the back carriage on the Frankston line – 9.16 train from Cheltenham ( Parkdale 9.11 / Highett 9.20).
NB. I have rescheduled this event to be in the school holidays so that we don’t have to compete with school excursions!
Afterwards I suggest a casual lunch at Brunetti’s – 250 Flinders Lane – but that is your choice.
Janette James.
