Hello Probus Friends – I hope you are enjoying Spring and have now adjusted to Daylight saving – those longer evenings are certainly welcome!
So we are at the start of Seniors Month, with free travel and plenty of activities, talks and workshops available as we celebrate active healthy ageing. I hope you get the chance to enjoy some of what is on offer.
A big thank you to Bill Crawford for entertaining us last month. I’m still amused by the mistaken identity story – and the fact that you were expelled from school for 24 hours! There was certainly so much you could have to told us, and I am sorry I had to cut you off after 20 minutes!
This month I have asked Jan Storey and Marilyn Hubbard to continue our discussion on AI, algorithms and data centres, as we seem to be bombarded with new developments and issues surrounding these topics almost every day.
And looking ahead, please join us for our final activity for the year – our Christmas lunch at the Bridge Hotel on Thursday 10th December. It will be a lovely way to finish another busy and enjoyable Probus year together.
Finally, a little request from me : please consider what you might be able to offer our Club. Whether it’s helping with an activity, sharing an idea, welcoming someone new or simply lending a hand, every contribution makes a difference.
We are a team and Probus is at its best when we all contribute, support one another and ,of course, have fun along the way!
See you at our next meeting.
Janette James
