Our Xmas in July luncheon was held this year at the Bentleigh RSL. It consisted of a 3 course meal and a drink on arrival.
52 members attended the luncheon and judging by the noise all had a great time. It’s funny when there is a lot of noise you assume everybody is having a great old time and I’m sure they were. I did notice that a lot of food was left on the plates despite everybody enjoying the lunch. After talking to quite a few members who were at the lunch we all decided that there was just too much food. Next year I think that we will stick to 2 courses obviously including sweets.
We had a few cancellations but because Kane (our contact person at the RSL) said we could pay on the day for the number who attended we were able to give those members who could not attend a refund.
We are very lucky to have such a fantastic bunch of people who have joined our Club and are continuing to do so. This month we have another 2 inductees which brings the total of our club to 102. Our activities are always well attended and enjoyed immensely.
I would like to thank the members who attended the lunch and a big thankyou for making the day so much fun. I know there are members who for whatever reason could not attend and I wish you all the best with a speedy recovery to those who are unwell.
