Jocelyn, Loyce and the Silos
The first two photos were taken at Devenish. Loyce and I had already visited Tungemah and St James, and went on to Goorambat silos, At this final destination we visited the small Uniting Church to see the depiction of Sophia behind the altar. It is the third photo above – a beautiful portrait of a woman who is said to represent the Holy Spirit. Contributed by Jocelyn May 2021
Family Travels with Helen
A Cruise around Wilson’s Prom and the next day walks along Squeaky Beach, Norman Beach and Shallow Inlet. Magnificent experiences and scenery, being driven around by my sixteen year old Granddaughter Emma, who has gained wonderful experience driving in all weather types and on a variety of roads.

Japan with Marilyn Hubbard
KYOTO
In mid-April 2017, I went on a walk through the foothills of Japan from Kyoto to Tokyo along the Nakasendo Way. (We didn’t walk all the way). These slides, which I shared with the Zoom Chat group on October 13, are from the three days we spent in Kyoto before we started our walk.
The modern structures you see are at the railway station but the rest are typical of the traditional architecture of Japan. On day 1, after settling into our accommodation, we went to visit the Golden Temple and its beautiful gardens. Day 2, we spent wandering around the city soaking in the atmosphere of locals dressed in kimonos and the cherry blossom all around us. Day 3, we went on a conducted walk and were shown around the artisan area where fans, thongs and traditional sweets were hand-made. We also visited a couple of other temples.
It was just how I pictured Japan to be. Marilyn

Penny and Steve’s Travels
Thank you to Penny McColl for providing the first input to Travel Time
The Yolngu people from The Gove Peninsula, East Arnhem Land live on the coast hence their food is sourced from the ocean. This is displayed in their art work and is not like the dot paintings by the Aboriginal people from Central Australia. These pieces were done for our daughter Erin and for us on our visit to Nhulunbuy NT last year. Looking forward to having these on show in our own home when we are back in it.
One might think we have an obsession with ablution blocks. Maybe being married to a plumber has something to do with this.
