Well 2025 has come and gone and what a year it was. The activities for the year really showcased how members have embraced the friendship and fellowship of the club.
To all members I wish you all a very happy and prosperous 2026.
The recipient of the President award for 2025 was Janette James, it was an honour to present the award to Janette. Her tireless and dedicated work has helped us grow to an even more vibrant and friendly club.
Our Christmas lunch was a huge success with 71 in attendance out of 98 members – the largest attendance ever. Faye and Geraldine did a wonderful job as usual in organising the day and the venue proved to be extremely popular. Thank you also to Julie for organising the entertainment. It was very heartening to see that we had three hampers for this year due to all the generous donations. A special thank you to Steve for stepping into MC at the last minute. Well done for doing such an outstanding job.
It was great to see so many on our first walk for this year, followed by a quick snack at McDonalds which provided a much needed catchup and chat after our Christmas break.
Our annual January lunch at the Flight Deck was once again very well supported. Whilst we were expected at 12 o’clock, as usual most members arrived well beforehand and appeared reluctant to leave, our group being some of the last to leave.
The support for all our activities really reflects the success of the past year as we look forward to 2026.
I would like to remind members of our Annual General Meeting in March. It is vital for the ongoing success of our club that we add new members to the Committee each year if possible. Please give consideration to nominating or speaking with either myself or Janette about joining the Committee.
