Petanque may be for you:
Bend a little bit to pick up the shiny boules (balls).
Set a good eye for the cochonnet (the target ball).
Develop your under-arm throwing technique.
Celebrate your skill at being close to the boule.
Develop your ability to add commentary, banter or at least a hearty laugh.
Enjoy a post-game coffee with your friends.
Decide to give it another go on Wednesday mornings.
A 2026 MESSAGE FROM STEVE McCOLL
Happy 2026 to all, I hope you are refreshed after your Christmas break and ready for the challenges our Petanque games offer.
Pétanque will start up again on Wednesday 4th February 2026 at 10.30am on the Beaumaris Oval located behind the Beaumaris Library, Reserve Road, enter off Cloris Ave or Victor Street. After Petanque we will continue with our usual get together for coffee and a chat at the Gazebo in the Concourse.
I am very hopeful we will see the return of our existing players and interest and presence of new players. You do not have to be an experienced player, there is an abundance of willing support on hand.
Come along and see what is on offer, we play, at times, a very competitive game, however, normally we enjoy the fun and laughs associated with a casual game in the company of friends.
Look forward to seeing you on the 4th February.
Steve McColl January 2026
